Typhoon No. 6 Makes Landfall and Current Rainfall Status
Typhoon No. 6 made landfall in southern Wakayama Prefecture at approximately 4:30 AM on June 3. Subsequently, linear rainbands have successively occurred in Tokushima Prefecture and Wakayama Prefecture since early morning on the same day. 'Level 4 Flood Risk Warnings' have been issued for some areas in Wakayama Prefecture, and 'Level 4 Landslide Disaster Risk Warnings' are in effect for parts of Tokushima, Wakayama, Nara, and Mie prefectures.
JMA's Warning and Call for Preparedness
The Japan Meteorological Agency stated that the typhoon is expected to continue moving along the Pacific coast of Western and Eastern Japan, with the possibility of linear rainbands forming in various regions. The agency is urging strict vigilance against landslides, river flooding, and inundation of low-lying areas, calling on residents to prepare accordingly.
