Typhoon No. 6 is steadily approaching the Okinawa main island, accompanied by its storm zone. Currently, Okinawa Prefecture is experiencing very strong winds, with maximum instantaneous wind speeds exceeding 30 meters. Residents are urged to exercise extreme caution as the typhoon draws closer.
JMA Issues Widespread Disaster Warnings, Urges Early Preparation
The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) has indicated a high likelihood of very heavy rainfall over Okinawa and Amami until tomorrow. Consequently, the agency is calling for strict vigilance against gales, high waves, landslides, and inundation of low-lying areas. Furthermore, western and eastern Japan are also expected to face heavy rain and gales from tomorrow to the day after, prompting the JMA to urge early preparations.
