Atom Commences Humanoid Robot Development and Secures 3 Billion Yen Investment

Atom announced the commencement of its physical AI-based humanoid robot development. Concurrently, the company successfully raised a total of 3 billion yen in seed funding. Atom defines its bipedal, dual-armed humanoid AI robots not merely as industrial machines, but as entities that work alongside human society, expanding the possibilities for humanity.

Aiming for Societal Implementation in Manufacturing and Logistics

The robots under development by Atom are designed to integrate environmental recognition, judgment, and action generation capabilities with robotic physicality, enabling adaptation to diverse environments and supporting or replacing human tasks. The company aims for societal implementation in the manufacturing and logistics/transportation sectors, with a future goal of establishing a mass production system. Atom has set a clear objective to "increase Japan's GDP by 1%" and is expected to contribute to a society where AI and humans coexist.

This investment round saw independent venture capitalists ANRI, Beyond Next Ventures, and Jafco Group serving as co-lead investors. The raised funds will be allocated towards talent acquisition, primarily AI engineers, expansion of the development infrastructure, and strengthening the business structure for societal implementation.
