Scaffolding Collapse at Kawasaki Steel Plant, 3 Workers Critical
On April 7, a scaffolding collapse at JFE Steel's Kawasaki plant resulted in four workers falling, three of whom are in critical condition. One worker remains missing.
Accident at Kawasaki Steel Plant
At approximately 4:30 PM on April 7, a scaffolding collapse occurred at a construction site within the JFE Steel East Japan Works Keihin District in Kawasaki City, Kawasaki Ward, Ogishima. The collapsed scaffolding was reportedly about 40 meters high. According to the police, several workers fell, and four individuals have been rescued so far. Among them, three are in critical condition and unconscious.
Search for Missing Worker Underway
In addition to the rescued workers, one person is still unaccounted for at the accident site. Police and fire departments are continuing to assess the situation at the scene, investigating the circumstances of the collapse and searching for the missing worker.
