Yakuza Gang Leaders Involved in 400 Million Yen Robbery
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, seven individuals, including Jinryu Kano (21), a suspected gang leader, and Koji Koike (47), an alleged ringleader, were arrested for a robbery that occurred in Higashiueno, Taito Ward, Tokyo. In January of this year, they allegedly stole a suitcase containing approximately 423 million yen and assaulted a man with tear gas spray while attempting to flee. The suspects are believed to be executives and masterminds of a Yamaguchi-gumi affiliated crime syndicate.
Stolen Funds Used for Car Purchases and Debt Repayment
Further investigation by sources close to the case revealed that Kano and his accomplices used a portion of the stolen money for car purchases and debt repayments. It is believed that Kano and Koike received a larger share of the proceeds. A significant amount of the stolen money remains unaccounted for, and the police are continuing their investigation into the specific uses and whereabouts of the funds.
Tracking the Funds and Further Investigations
The Metropolitan Police Department views this incident as an organized crime and is expanding its investigation to determine where the stolen money went and to locate the remaining funds. The roles and financial flows involving other suspects, including Ayumu Murata, Daiki Ikeda, and Kenko Fukuhara, are also under intense scrutiny.
