Air Defense Activity Reported Near Iran's Qeshm Island

According to Iran's Mehr News Agency, air defense activity was observed near Iran's Qeshm Island. Tasnim News Agency, affiliated with the Revolutionary Guard, reported that Iranian air defense forces shot down a miniature drone belonging to U.S. and Israeli adversaries. However, this claim has not been confirmed by either the United States or Israel. While brief skirmishes above Qeshm Island are confirmed, the specific details of the engagement and the credibility of Iran's drone shootdown claim remain unclear.

NATO Condemns Russian Drone Attack on Romania

Regarding the incident where a Russian drone allegedly attacked Romania, Russian President Vladimir Putin adopted an ambiguous stance, neither confirming nor denying the drone's origin. Nevertheless, both Romania and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) have unequivocally attributed the incident to Russia and strongly condemned it. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stated via X (formerly Twitter) that Russia's drone incursion was a 'reckless act of aggression' and a 'violation of international law,' affirming that Canada and its NATO allies are prepared to defend Romania's territory. The U.S. Ambassador to NATO also expressed support for Romania and condemned the intrusion, though, unlike Canada, did not explicitly name Russia as the direct perpetrator of the attack.
