Russia Launches Widespread Attacks Across Ukraine
According to Ukrainian media, in the early hours of May 26, Russian forces launched ballistic missile and drone attacks on eight regions of Ukraine, including Odesa in the south and Kramatorsk in the east. These strikes resulted in the deaths of at least 8 people and injured over 100 others.
Russia's Kyiv Warning and EU Response
Prior to these attacks, the Russian government had announced on May 25 its intention to commence a large-scale offensive against Ukraine's capital, Kyiv. Moscow urged foreign nationals and diplomats to evacuate the city immediately. In response to this threat, the European Union's Ambassador to Ukraine stated on social media, "We remain in Kyiv. We stand with Ukraine," signaling the EU's unwavering support and refusal to withdraw.
