Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Takes Oath
Chandrasekar Joseph Vijay, President of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), has been sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Vijay successfully secured the required majority of 118 seats in the Tamil Nadu Assembly after his party won 108 of the 234 seats in last month's elections. He managed to cross the threshold by gaining the support of five Congress MLAs and two other lawmakers, following five days and four meetings with Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar.
Public Support and Political Ascent
The 51-year-old actor-turned-politician's swearing-in ceremony was met with overwhelming enthusiasm from his supporters, as seen in the video where crowds cheered loudly. His mother, Shoba Chandrasekhar, was also present, visibly pleased by the event, highlighting the widespread public support for Vijay. His ascension to the chief ministerial post marks a significant moment for Tamil Nadu's political landscape.
