'Digital Education in AI Era' Forum Held

The Ho Chi Minh City Computer Association, in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Creative Entrepreneurship Center, hosted the educational technology forum 'EDTECH VIETNAM 2026' on April 10. The forum, themed 'Digital Education in the AI Era,' gathered representatives from domestic and international management bodies, educational institutions, technology companies, and experts. It served as a platform to introduce new technological solutions in education and foster policy discussions and experience sharing.

Lam Nguyen Hai Long, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Computer Association, emphasized that the world is undergoing significant transformation influenced by Artificial Intelligence (AI), big data, and digital platforms. These technologies are gradually changing how people learn, how they are taught, and how educational systems are managed. Long added that digital transformation in education requires a comprehensive approach, encompassing innovative management thinking, operational models, and teachers' digital capabilities, not merely technology adoption.

Opportunities and Challenges in Digital Education

EDTECH VIETNAM 2026 aims to facilitate the transition of technological solutions from pilot stages to widespread application. The forum included workshops focusing on themes such as building digital schools, developing smart learning materials, utilizing educational data, and management solutions in the AI era. Additionally, an exhibition and experience area with dozens of booths and 'live laboratory' models provided schools and teachers direct access to the latest technologies.

Le Thanh Roi, a representative from the Ministry of Education and Training and Director of the Southern Education and Training Development Center, highlighted that the forum was held amidst a broad digital transformation across all socio-economic sectors. In this process, education and training are not just beneficiaries but also central drivers in forming digital human resources and a learning society. Roi acknowledged existing challenges, including a lack of synchronized digital infrastructure, uneven digital competencies among workers, disparities in technology access across regions, and growing demands for information security. The forum is expected to strengthen collaboration among administrative bodies, educational institutions, and technology companies, promote the development of digital learning platforms, and contribute to cultivating high-quality human resources for the digital economy.
