Arrest of Teenager Linked to Cambodia Scam Base
A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted fraud while operating from a scam base in Cambodia. The boy, a resident of Tochigi Prefecture, conspired with accomplices to call a woman in Gifu Prefecture from Cambodia, impersonating a police officer in an attempt to defraud her of cash.
Investigation into International Organization 'Tokuryu'
Police identified the Cambodian scam base by analyzing the smartphones of previously arrested accomplices, which revealed the 16-year-old boy's involvement. The boy subsequently returned to Japan voluntarily and was arrested at his home. Authorities are currently investigating the case, considering the potential involvement of 'Tokuryu', an international fraud organization.
