Fugitive Hong Kong Charity Director Sued in US Over Real Estate 'Shell Game'
Fugitive Director Faces US Lawsuit
A wanted director of a scandal-hit Hong Kong charity who fled the city, Jacob Lam Hay-sing, is facing a sweeping 14-count civil lawsuit in the United States. The lawsuit alleges a multi-million dollar property scheme, which the plaintiff described as a โshell gameโ. Lam is the founder and director of the now-defunct Hong Kong charity, Christian Zheng Sheng Association.
Allegations of Defrauding Developer
Developer Joseph Lee Daniell accused Lam Hay-sing of defrauding him. The complaint for damages and equitable relief details the allegations against Lam, who is currently a fugitive from Hong Kong. The civil action in the US brings new legal challenges for the former charity director.
