Malaysia rolls out flexi-work for civil servants, cuts RON95 subsidy quota
Malaysia introduces flexi-work for civil servants and urges the private sector to follow suit. The monthly quota for subsidised RON95 petrol will be temporarily reduced from 300 to 200 litres.
Flexi-Work Arrangements for Civil Servants and Private Sector Plea
During a special address on Thursday (March 26), Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced the implementation of flexi-work arrangements for civil servants. The Prime Minister also urged the private sector to adopt similar flexible work policies, aiming to enhance employee welfare and productivity across the nation.
Interim Reduction in Subsidised Petrol Quota
In the same address, Anwar Ibrahim also revealed an interim measure to reduce the monthly quota for subsidised RON95 petrol under the BUDI95 programme. The quota will be lowered from 300 litres to 200 litres. This adjustment appears to be a temporary step by the government to manage national finances and promote energy efficiency.
