Introduction and Achievements of AI Education in High Schools

Vietnam is focusing on introducing artificial intelligence (AI) education content into high schools, in line with the Politburo Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW dated August 22, 2025, on 'Breakthroughs in Education and Training Development.' Nguyen Quoc Nam, principal of Tien Phong High School in Hanoi, stated that since the introduction of AI education, teachers have become more proactive in their lessons after receiving training and professional development. In a recent city-level outstanding teacher competition, teachers of literature, computer science, and geography effectively utilized AI in their classes, securing second and third places.

AI education has made classes more engaging and dynamic, encouraging students to create learning products based on AI applications. The school has formulated educational plans suitable for real-world situations and organized model lessons to help teachers understand how to approach and effectively use AI, leading to an innovative achievement in school operations and education for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Challenges and Future Plans for AI Education

Alongside the benefits, challenges in AI education have also been identified. Tien Phong High School requires teachers to regularly update their knowledge, especially computer skills, and cautions against over-reliance on AI. There is a concern that without selective integration, both teachers and students could become overly dependent on AI, losing control over knowledge and activities. Therefore, teachers need to balance traditional and modern methods and strengthen information verification.

Moving forward, Tien Phong High School plans to send its staff and faculty to training sessions hosted by experts from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training and the Ministry of Education and Training. Key teachers in computer science and natural sciences, in particular, will be sent for advanced training to prepare for future developments. Yen Hoa High School in Hanoi also reported that AI utilization has made classes more vibrant, engaged students, and contributed to improving the quality of education.
