US Ambassador Urges EU to Pass Trade Deal, Warns of 'Economic Malpractice'
US Ambassador Urges Passage of EU-US Trade Deal
Andrew Puzder, the US Ambassador to the EU, has strongly urged the European Parliament to pass the EU-US trade deal as lawmakers prepare to vote on it this Thursday. Puzder stated that "the signs are good" for its passage and warned that "it would be economic malpractice not to pass this." He emphasized that the agreement represents a significant benefit for both the United States and the European Union.
US Alleges European Non-Compliance with Agreement
Ambassador Puzder noted that "despite what you're hearing, despite the political talk, the United States has been in compliance every day." He asserted, "There's not one day where we haven't been in compliance under the agreement." In contrast, Puzder stated, "we're waiting for Europe to be in compliance, like one day." He concluded by stressing that this is not a one-sided issue, and the United States is ready to proceed with the agreement.
