Hong Kong DAB Emphasizes Self-Improvement and Redefinition of Role After New Leadership Election
DAB Announces New Leadership and Focus on Self-Improvement
DAB has announced its new vision and goals after the recent election of its new leadership. For the next two years, the leadership plans to guide the party around four main objectives: 'self-improvement', 'building Hong Kong', 'contributing to the motherland', and 'connecting with the world'. Over the past two and a half years, DAB has worked to enhance its political theory and policy levels, strengthen political talent development, and expand cooperation with various sectors of society and different industries. The party has also focused on supporting the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government in rule-of-law governance and improving governance efficiency.
Economic and Livelihood Improvement, Talent Cultivation Focus
DAB has fully committed to safeguarding national security and social stability, and supporting Hong Kong's better integration into national development. It has also strived to promote 'China's story' and 'Hong Kong's story' to the world. Notably, the party achieved an increase in seats in the last Legislative Council election. Recognizing the increasing expectations from various sectors of society, DAB plans to further promote economic market development, foster fintech and new energy industries, and push for the establishment of an international talent hub.
Contributing to the Community and Strengthening Governance Partnerships
To improve livelihoods, DAB will continue to collaborate with the government to address public concerns, including reforming the old building maintenance system, ensuring the sustainability of public healthcare, enhancing elderly services, and refining population policies. Furthermore, the party will strengthen its community work to resolve residents' problems and ensure the government recognizes and addresses issues arising during policy implementation. DAB pledges to remain a steadfast helper to the Central Government, a capable partner to the HKSAR Government, and a good friend to the driving forces of social development.
