Government Initiatives and Plans for Women's Development
The Hong Kong government prioritizes women's development and has implemented various measures, including establishing the Women's Self-Reliance Fund, building a one-stop family and women's information platform, and launching the 'Glass Ceiling' project. Notably, the Second Hong Kong Family and Women's Development Summit will be held on the 31st of this month to demonstrate a strong commitment to empowering women. Lee stated that all these efforts aim to create broader platforms for women.
Hong Kong's Future Vision Aligned with National Development Plans
2026 marks the inaugural year of the National 15th Five-Year Plan. The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government is currently drafting its first Hong Kong Five-Year Plan to align with this national strategy, outlining its development vision for the next five years. Chief Executive Lee expressed his hope that through this new blueprint, women will seize opportunities to expand into the Greater Bay Area, mainland China, and globally, making greater contributions to the development of both the nation and the HKSAR.
