Ministry of Employment and Labor Boosts Industrial Accident Prediction Accuracy by 52% with AI
The Ministry of Employment and Labor is moving to enhance worker safety with artificial intelligence (AI) technology. It has developed an AI model for industrial accident prediction that learned from data across 3 million workplaces. This model identifies the top 0.6% (19,000) of workplaces with high accident risk, improving its predictive power by 52% compared to traditional methods. With explainable AI, the Ministry expects to concentrate resources more effectively on industrial accident prevention.
Field Officials Enhance Work Efficiency by Developing AI Tools
Field officials have also participated in developing AI tools. Labor Inspector Kang Min developed 'Sound Writer,' a tool that converts call recordings into text. Administrator Han Yi-song developed an 'AI Self-Introduction Generator' to assist job seekers with document preparation, which is currently being applied in field services. These AI tools contribute to enhancing on-site work efficiency.
