Vietnam, EU See Broad Cooperation Potential in AI, Advanced Tech
Emphasizing AI and Advanced Technology Cooperation Potential
Experts foresee significant opportunities for cooperation between Vietnam and the European Union (EU) in artificial intelligence (AI), high-tech agriculture, and healthcare. Scientists note that Vietnam, with its increasing demand for technological applications, holds a strong advantage for developing joint projects with the EU. European specialists underscored Vietnam's substantial potential for collaboration in AI and advanced technology fields during the recent Vietnam-EU Science Technology and Trade Cooperation Conference held in Brussels.
Gene Editing and Healthcare Collaboration
Professor Geert Angenon of Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) highlighted advancements in plant biotechnology, particularly gene-editing technologies. He explained that AI is an essential tool for understanding gene functions and precisely identifying target genes for crop improvement. While Belgium also shows keen interest, Vietnam's practical agricultural needs present even greater application possibilities. Concurrently, Professor Sara Bartout, Deputy Director of the Belgian Applied Nuclear Medicine Institute (SKC CEN), commended Vietnam's progress in healthcare, especially nuclear medicine, confirming mutual interest in cooperation.
