UBS Highlights Expectations for Mass Production of Smart Robots This Year
AI Investment Expands to Second Tier
Ken Poon, Head of Asia Pacific Research at UBS, stated at a recent press conference that the UBS AIC 2026 conference saw 6,000 attendees and nearly 400 participating companies, with many investors showing interest in artificial intelligence (AI) investments. He explained that AI-related investments are currently shifting from first-tier leading companies to second-tier related industries such as data centers and component manufacturers.
Mass Production of Smart Robots and Market Outlook
Poon further predicted that investor interest would move to third-tier companies that apply or benefit from AI. He specifically mentioned the emergence of Physical AI (embodied intelligence/smart robots), emphasizing that integrating AI elements into robots would significantly boost demand. The market anticipates the mass production of smart robots this year, with global robot production estimated to reach 3 million units by 2030.
