Remains Discovered in New Mexico National Forest

The remains of Melissa Casias, an administrative assistant at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico, were discovered by a hiker in the Carson National Forest after more than a year. Found approximately 15 miles from her home, a handgun was also located near her remains. The cause and manner of her death are currently under investigation. Casias was reported missing last year after failing to show up for work, leaving behind personal belongings including her purse and cell phone, and never returning home. Her loved ones are now vowing to fight for justice.

Mystery of 11 Missing or Deceased Scientists and Government Employees

Melissa Casias is one of 11 U.S. scientists and government employees with ties to nuclear and aerospace programs who have mysteriously disappeared or died since June 2022. Among them, four prominent researchers were from Los Angeles County, including an aerospace engineer who vanished in the Angeles National Forest last year. The Los Alamos National Laboratory, where Casias worked, is known for producing cores for nuclear weapons during the Manhattan Project. The House Oversight Committee and the FBI are actively investigating these cases, though they have not yet found anything alarming to suggest a coordinated link between them.
