Devastating Blast in Myanmar Claims Dozens of Lives
A building reportedly storing explosives in Kaungtup village, northeastern Myanmar, suffered a catastrophic explosion, resulting in at least 46 fatalities, including six children. Rescue workers confirmed the recovery of bodies, which were subsequently cremated. Additionally, at least 74 individuals sustained injuries and were transported to a township hospital for treatment.
Explosion Details and Widespread Damage
The incident occurred in a village controlled by the Ta'ang National Liberation Army, a group engaged in conflict with Myanmar's government. The site was reportedly used for storing mining explosives. The blast caused extensive damage, with more than 100 nearby houses reportedly damaged. Visuals from the scene show a massive plume of smoke rising into the sky, followed by widespread destruction and rubble across the village.
