Second Warmest Spring on Record
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the average temperature from March to May this year was 1.54°C higher than average. This marks the second warmest spring since records began in 1898. The primary reason for this warmer trend is attributed to Japan being frequently covered by warm air. Notably, the Northern Kyushu region experienced its warmest spring ever recorded.
Summer Heatwave Forecast and Heatstroke Warnings
The Meteorological Agency predicts that higher-than-average temperatures will continue across Japan throughout the upcoming summer. In response, the agency is urging citizens to take sufficient heatstroke prevention measures and to pay close attention to their health.
