Iran's IRGC Claims Targeting US Airbase Amid Rising Middle East Tensions
IRGC Claims Targeting US Airbase; Kuwait Intercepts Attacks
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed to have targeted an airbase allegedly used for a US attack on a telecommunications tower on Sirik Island in southern Iran. While there is no official confirmation regarding the airbase, the Kuwaiti army reported intercepting hostile missile and drone attacks, urging the public to adhere to safety instructions. This announcement came shortly after the US confirmed it conducted self-defense strikes on Iranian radar and command and control sites for drones in Goruk and Qeshm Island.
US-Iran Tensions Rise; Trump Comments on Potential Deal
The US stated its strikes were in response to aggressive Iranian actions, including the shootdown of a US MQ-1 drone operating over international waters. These strikes occur amidst growing uncertainty over a deal between Iran and the United States to end the three-month-long conflict. US President Donald Trump has once again claimed that Iran 'really wants to make a deal,' stating it will be 'a good one for the USA and its allies.' He also criticized Democrats and 'seemingly unpatriotic Republicans' for allegedly hindering his ability to negotiate effectively.
