Hong Kong to Probe Delayed Blood Transfusion Death of 8-Year-Old Girl
Medical Watchdog and Coroner's Court Launch Probes
Hong Kong's medical watchdog and Coroner's Court are set to investigate an incident where an eight-year-old girl died two years ago following a delayed blood transfusion during surgery at a public hospital. Eddie Chau, the girl's father, stated that the Medical Council inquiry would take place from October 27 to 30, and he would attend as a witness.
Official Inquest to Determine Cause of Death
The Coroner's Court has also informed Chau that it decided to open an inquest into Chau Tin-yu's death, with the specific date to be announced later. These investigations aim to determine if there was any medical negligence during the surgery and the exact circumstances leading to her demise.
