HKPC Hosts AI Solutions Expo, Emphasizing 'AI for All' Training
The Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) held its second 'AI with HKPC' Smart AI Solutions Expo on May 22 at the Productivity Building, following its inaugural event in February. This exhibition further focused on the practical applications of artificial intelligence (AI) across various industries and the development of 'AI for All' training. As the national '15th Five-Year Plan' proposes to deepen and expand 'AI+', the Hong Kong SAR government has also positioned AI as a core industry. Approximately 50 AI innovation solutions were featured, concentrating on smart manufacturing, innovative public services, and 'AI for All' training. Around 3,000 representatives from government, business, academia, and research institutions registered to participate.
Growing Demand for AI Training Among Employers and Employees
Representatives from the HKPC and exhibitors noted that both employers and employees currently have a strong demand for AI solutions and related training. They emphasized that while AI technology enhances work efficiency, employees who upskill through AI training may also have opportunities for salary increases or career transitions. Dai Ming-ju, Deputy Chief Consultant of HKPC's Next Generation Enterprise and Technology Development, explained that AI training is categorized into public outreach courses and internal professional training. Many organizations specifically address the risks of employees uploading internal data to AI, focusing on preventing data leaks and strengthening cybersecurity awareness in the workplace. Numerous working professionals are also proactively enrolling in introductory AI courses to enhance their competitiveness.
