Malaysia Launches AI-Powered Database to Track Political Corruption Cases
New Corruption Tracking Database 'PAW' Launched
An AI-powered database tracking corruption cases against Malaysia's politicians was independently launched this Friday. Named Prosecutorial Accountability Watch (PAW), it was built by civil society group Projek SAMA and is hosted with news outlet Malaysiakini. This initiative aims to put fresh scrutiny on the status and outcomes of Malaysia's biggest graft prosecutions across administrations.
Tracking Cases Involving Key Politicians
PAW tracks 33 high-profile cases involving current and former elected representatives. These cases include those linked to major figures such as former prime minister Najib Razak's 1MDB scandal. The launch of this database is expected to enhance transparency and public oversight of how political corruption cases are handled in Malaysia.
