Damage Caused by Drone Attack
On May 7, a Russian drone strike in Kharkiv, Ukraine, damaged homes, set a kiosk and a car ablaze, and caused several injuries, according to regional officials. Emergency workers were on site to extinguish the fires and provide assistance to the injured. One injured person reported being hit by shrapnel on his forehead and arm, stating that he ducked to avoid further injury. He described hearing the buzz of a Shahed drone and seeing it heading directly towards them.
Resident Accounts and On-Site Situation
The injured resident further explained that the Shahed drone circled before dropping vertically, hitting just two meters from their fence and almost landing in their yard. He ran inside his house and ducked just before the explosion. The attack resulted in severe damage to buildings and vehicles, as seen in the aftermath. Firefighters are currently working to clear the debris and prevent further damage. This incident highlights the ongoing impact of the Russia-Ukraine war and the danger of drone attacks on civilian areas.
