On April 30, a bus plunged into the River Seine near Juvisy-sur-Orge, France. The accident occurred when a trainee driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle. Emergency services swiftly responded, and all four people on board the bus were successfully rescued from the water.
Driver's Status and Ongoing Investigation
The driver, who was undergoing route training, was already fully licensed and experienced. Christian Toussaint du Wast, a police union representative, stated that the driver "was already fully trained. She already had her license. She was discovering the route on which she was going to be deployed." Authorities confirmed that the driver tested negative for both drugs and alcohol. An investigation into the exact cause of the incident is currently underway.
