Iran Emphasizes Early Stage of Highly Enriched Uranium Negotiation
Iran Nuclear Negotiations Update
Iran has refuted suggestions by US President Donald Trump that it has agreed to hand over its highly enriched uranium stockpile. Iranian sources emphasize that negotiations are still in a very early stage, making it premature to draw any conclusions. They anticipate a framework for negotiations lasting 45 to 60 days, during which both sides will meet at expert and political levels to make appropriate decisions regarding uranium enrichment.
Uranium Enrichment and Facility Concerns
The ongoing discussions will cover various aspects, including whether Iran will halt its uranium enrichment for 20, 10, or 5 years, or indefinitely. Iran asserts that it has not accepted any proposals to date, contrary to what President Trump has suggested. Currently, Iran is known to have 480 kilograms of uranium buried in one of its nuclear facilities, which was reportedly bombarded by the United States and Israel in June 2025.
