Iran Foreign Ministry: US-Iran Talks Underway, 10-Point Package Conveyed to Pakistan
US-Iran Talks Progressing
Esmail Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry, stated that talks with the United States are ongoing. He mentioned that negotiations began immediately upon arrival in Islamabad, Pakistan, and that Ghalibaf and Araghchi held approximately two and a half hours of discussions with their Pakistani counterparts. Iran has conveyed a proposed 10-point package to Pakistan, which includes key demands such as a permanent cessation of hostilities, lifting of all primary and secondary sanctions, withdrawal of US military forces from the region, and guarantees against further attacks.
Iran Alleges Truce Violations
Baghaei further added that Iran's Foreign Ministry also presented cases of truce violations reported in the last 24 hours to the Pakistani delegation. He noted that discussions are still ongoing between Ghalibaf and the accompanying delegation with Pakistani leaders. The focus of these talks is on achieving a permanent end to hostilities rather than a temporary ceasefire, indicating Iran's intent to use Pakistani mediation to address grievances and improve relations with the US.
