Bangkok Expands 'Open Public Spaces' for Community Activities
Enhancing Public Happiness Through Open Spaces
Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt stated that Bangkok's public spaces bring happiness to its citizens. He emphasized that these are 'good public spaces' where people can naturally gather, dance, and enjoy various activities. The city provides essential facilities such as stages, sound systems, and lighting to ensure residents can engage in high-quality activities. This effort also offers an appealing, free-of-charge attraction for tourists visiting Bangkok.
Plans for Community-Level Activity Expansion
Governor Chadchart Sittipunt announced plans to expand similar activities beyond Lumphini Park to other locations like Suan Rot Fai, Chatuchak, Benchakitti, Benchasiri, and even smaller community parks. Currently, numerous aerobic programs are being run at the community level, allowing elderly residents to enjoy live dance and step exercises. He aims to make fostering community activities a key goal for the city, leveraging the friendly and welcoming nature of Thai people to create environments where everyone can make friends and have a good time.
