Quezon City 'Sipsip-Diesel' Gang Vehicle Secured, 2 Suspects Arrested
'Sipsip-Diesel' Theft Incident Details
On Tuesday, March 31, a group of five men was caught on CCTV stealing diesel from a parked truck in Fairview, Quezon City. The footage showed them siphoning approximately 70 liters of diesel, valued at around 10,000 pesos. The same vehicle was later spotted on Omega Avenue, which allowed the police to trace the car's owner through its license plate.
Suspects Apprehended and Confession
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) investigation revealed that the vehicle had been rented out. Based on the car owner's statements, the Special Investigation Team arrested two of the four suspects. They confessed to stealing and selling the diesel at a lower price in Barangay Payatas to recover losses from online gambling. Police are urging the remaining suspects to surrender. QCPD Director, PBGEN. Randy Glenn Silvio, stated that the CCTV footage was crucial in identifying the vehicle involved in the crime.
Vehicle Confiscation and Ongoing Investigation
Police confiscated the red vehicle used in the crime, and the arrested suspects will face charges of theft. Truck driver Ian Gabriel Dilay appealed for the remaining suspects to also come forward to prevent similar incidents from recurring. The police continue to enhance their vigilance against such crimes and are actively pursuing the other individuals involved in the theft.
