Hamas Declares Deadlock in Gaza Ceasefire Phase Two Negotiations
Hamas Criticizes Non-Implementation of Ceasefire Phase One Conditions
Hamas has informed mediators that it will not proceed with discussions for the implementation of the second phase of the Gaza Strip ceasefire plan. This stance stems from the non-fulfillment of the initial terms of the ceasefire. According to Mouin Rabbani, a non-resident fellow at the Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies, Hamas stated it would not discuss disarmament issues while Palestinians continue to be targeted by Israel. Since the ceasefire came into effect, more than 700 Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza Strip, and humanitarian aid remains restricted.
Demands End to Illegal Occupation and Adherence to International Consensus
Hamas also highlighted that the National Committee for the Administration of the Gaza Strip, established by the Board of Peace, continues to be prohibited from entering the Gaza Strip by the Israelis, and that the Board of Peace is doing nothing to ensure its ability to get in. Hamas insists that Israel must fulfill its obligations in line with international consensus and the rulings of the International Court of Justice, recognizing this as an illegal occupation that must end. Hamas maintains a firm position, asserting that what the enemy was unable to seize through genocide, it will not seize through politics.
