Two More Israeli Soldiers Killed in Lebanon Border Clashes
Two Additional Israeli Soldiers Killed in Southern Lebanon
Israel's emergency services reported that two more soldiers have been killed during combat operations in southern Lebanon, bringing the total number of Israeli soldiers killed to four since early March. These deaths follow a series of deadly ambushes, including anti-tank missile attacks by the Iran-backed Hezbollah, linked to the ongoing Israel-Hamas war. One casualty was a man in his 30s, killed by shrapnel in a missile strike, while another soldier in his early 20s was also killed in combat and laid to rest in Jerusalem.
Lebanese Airstrikes and IDF Manpower Shortage
The violence marks a sharp escalation in cross-border fighting since early March. Lebanese media reported that an Israeli strike hit Beirut's southern suburbs, with several explosions heard in Hezbollah's stronghold, which Israel has repeatedly targeted since the war started. The Israeli offensive has killed over 1,000 people in Lebanon, displacing over 1 million. Meanwhile, an IDF spokesperson, Effie Defrin, stated that additional troops are required for deployment along the Lebanese front, adding that the army is short by about 15,000 soldiers. Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid accused the government of fighting a multi-front war 'without a strategy and with far too few soldiers'.
