Minnesota Governor Tim Walz stated in a recent interview that residents suffered significant harm from the ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) operations conducted in Minnesota during the former President Donald Trump's term. He emphasized that armed federal agents deployed in Minnesota killed citizens and caused massive damage, which will take years to recover from. Notably, the Minnesota Star Tribune reported a case of a patient who missed chemotherapy and ultimately passed away in hospice care. Governor Walz pointed out that these incidents inflicted severe trauma, disrupted education, and caused welfare issues for Minnesota residents.

The Minnesota state government is actively working to uncover the truth behind the ICE operations and hold those responsible accountable. Governor Walz noted that Attorney General Keith Ellison and Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration to obtain relevant evidence. He added that international organizations like the United Nations are also investigating the incidents. Governor Walz criticized former President Trump's indifference to the suffering of Minnesota residents, akin to his disinterest in issues concerning Greenland, Venezuela, and Iran. He warned that Democratic states are facing these assaults and that former President Trump will continue his attempts to undermine democracy. Governor Walz urged all citizens to resist in their respective capacities, whether through food bank assistance, writing letters, or engaging with relatives, to protect democracy.
