Four Houses Gutted, 100 Displaced in Taguig Fire
Taguig House Fire Breaks Out, Displacing Residents
On Thursday, March 26, around midnight, a fire erupted on Tanguile Street in Barangay Cembo, Taguig City, Philippines, engulfing four houses. The incident resulted in the displacement of approximately 25 families, or over 100 individuals. The blaze was brought under control around 2 AM, and fortunately, no fatalities or injuries have been reported.
Firefighting Challenges and Evacuee Support
Firefighters faced significant challenges during the operation due to narrow streets and low water pressure from fire hydrants in the area. The fire reached a second alarm, prompting the deployment of nearly 40 fire trucks. The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) is currently investigating the cause of the fire. The barangay has prepared an evacuation area for those who lost their homes, with assistance from the Taguig Social Welfare and Development Department providing modular tents and food. The BFP reminds the public to remain vigilant against fire hazards, even after Fire Prevention Month.
