Russia Secretly Supplies Drones and Goods to Iran, Western Intelligence Confirms
Russia-Iran Drone Support Discussions Initiated
Western intelligence agencies have assessed that Russia has nearly completed the phased delivery of drones, medical supplies, and food to Iran. According to a report by the British newspaper Financial Times (FT) on the 25th (local time), two officials familiar with the matter stated that high-ranking Russian and Iranian officials began secret discussions for drone deliveries days after US and Israel attacked Iran.
Drone Delivery Procedures and Suspected Models
Antonio Giustozzi, a senior research fellow at the British think tank Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), told the FT that he received information from an internal source within the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The drone delivery process began early this month and is expected to be completed by the end of the month. The exact drone models being supplied are unknown, but one official suggested that Russia might transfer drones like the 'Geran-2,' based on Iran's 'Shahed-136' model.
