Russia Claims Downing Nearly 400 Ukrainian Drones, Signaling Major Offensive
Russia Reports Major Drone Interceptions
The Russian military has announced that it shot down nearly 400 Ukrainian drones overnight, marking one of the largest aerial exchanges of the war to date. Russian regions bordering Ukraine, including Moscow and the northwestern Leningrad Oblast, were the primary targets. Additionally, a major northwestern port in Leningrad Oblast experienced a fire due to Ukrainian attacks, disrupting power and water supplies.
Ukraine Suffers Heavy Casualties and Infrastructure Damage
Russia launched nearly 1,000 long-range drones at Ukraine on Tuesday in what President Zelensky slammed as the 'biggest-ever daytime attack,' killing at least 8 people and injuring dozens. The attacks hit residential buildings and infrastructure across the country, including a UNESCO heritage site in the western city of Lviv. Emergency personnel responded to a strike in the Vinnytsia region where one person was killed and 13 wounded. Two others were killed and a maternity hospital damaged in Ivano-Frankivsk. Zelensky urged increased international pressure, stating that Moscow has no real intention of ending the war.
