Philippines to Experience Sustained Heat; Heat Index Up to 41°C in Some Areas
Prolonged Heat Across the Philippines and Heat Index Forecast
The Philippines continues to experience hot and dry weather, with warm and humid Easterlies prevailing across the archipelago. On Thursday, the heat index in Borongan City, Coron, Palawan, and Dumangas, Iloilo is expected to reach a maximum of 41°C. Additionally, several other areas, including Cavite City and Cotabato City, are forecasted to experience a heat index of 40°C. This heat index reflects the perceived temperature, considering the combined effects of air temperature and humidity.
Regional Rainfall Forecast for Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao
For Thursday, Luzon may see light rain in Cavite, Southern Quezon, and Mindoro during the morning. In the afternoon, rain is expected in Cordillera and Pangasinan, though it should subside by nightfall. Palawan will remain dry and hot throughout the day. In the Visayas, heavy rain is anticipated in Central Cebu in the morning, followed by scattered showers in parts of the Samar Provinces and Northern Cebu in the afternoon and evening. Mindanao will experience morning rain in the Caraga Region, spreading to parts of the Davao Region, Southern/Central/Western Mindanao in the afternoon, with rainfall diminishing by night.
Metro Manila Weather Forecast
Metro Manila is expected to have sunny and hot weather all day on Thursday. The chance of rain is very low, and the heat index is forecasted to peak at 38°C around 3 PM. Given the high heat index, residents are advised to wear light clothing, avoid direct sun exposure, and drink plenty of water to maintain their health. While the forecasted heat index is not yet at a danger level, caution is advised.
