US Coast Guard Surveys Flooded Oahu, Hawaii Regions
Oahu Island Flood Damage
On March 21, 2026, severe flooding occurred in the Waialua and Haleiwa areas of northern Oahu Island, Hawaii, due to heavy rainfall. Villages and agricultural lands were covered in muddy water, and some residential areas along the riverbanks were also submerged. Damages included soil erosion around homes and partial submersion of houses, with roads also flooded and impassable for vehicles.
US Coast Guard Search Operation
A US Coast Guard helicopter conducted an extensive aerial survey over the flood-affected areas, searching for casualties and signs of distress. The helicopter meticulously examined residential areas along the coastline and moved across submerged farmlands and villages inland to assess the damage. Evidence of overflowing rivers and soil erosion caused by the floods was observed in multiple locations, raising concerns about further property damage.
