US-Israel Launch 'Epic Fury' Operation Against Iran, Escalating Middle East Tensions
Iranian Missile Facilities and Energy Infrastructure Destroyed
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) released before-and-after satellite images of Iranian missile facilities destroyed as part of 'Operation Epic Fury.' The images confirm that the facilities were completely obliterated by U.S. airstrikes. President Donald Trump stated from the White House that 'Iran's Navy, Air Force, and anti-aircraft equipment have been obliterated, and their leadership has been removed,' adding that 'they are now looking for new leaders.' Additionally, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) struck Iran's critical energy infrastructure, including the South Pars gas field, shared with Qatar, which is the world's largest natural gas field. This attack caused approximately $20 billion in damages and took 17% of its production offline.
Iran's Retaliatory Attacks and UAE's Response
Iran claimed retaliation for the Israeli gas field attack by targeting gas fields off the coast of Qatar. In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), authorities reported dismantling an Iranian-funded terror cell and successfully intercepting Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks. The UAE plans to further enhance its air defense capabilities by purchasing a $5 billion THAAD battery from the U.S. Fox News correspondent Lucas Tomlinson reported that Iran launched 'more than 2,000 ballistic missiles and drones at the UAE, more than double the number launched at Israel,' indicating rising military tensions in the region.
