Prime Minister Kim Min-seok Presides Over First 'Pan-Government Drone & Anti-Drone Integrated TF' Meeting
Emphasis on Establishing an Integrated Drone and Anti-Drone System
Prime Minister Kim Min-seok presided over the first meeting of the 'Pan-Government Drone and Anti-Drone Integrated Task Force (TF)' at the Government Complex in Seoul on the 20th. He stated that drones have become a core strategic element for national security, industrial competitiveness, and national safety. The Prime Minister specifically highlighted the importance of approaching drone and anti-drone systems not as separate entities but as a 'unified integrated system' that requires standardization.
Advocating for Pan-Ministerial Governance
Prime Minister Kim Min-seok asserted that establishing such an integrated system necessitates a governmental governance, or a 'control tower.' He added that drone-related policies must inherently possess a pan-ministerial and comprehensive nature. The meeting was attended by Yoon Chang-ryeol, Head of the Office for Government Policy Coordination and Chairman of the TF, the Director of the Anti-Terrorism Center, and 25 experts from various fields. They discussed diverse issues including the creation of a drone industrial ecosystem and an integrated system for R&D innovation.
