On March 16, 2024, the US Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq, was subjected to a drone and rocket attack. The assault occurred amidst heightened tensions between the US-Israel-Iran and reportedly involved at least five drones and rockets targeting the embassy compound. The video shows the C-RAM air defense system firing to intercept a drone.
Air Defense System Engaged, Damage Reported
The US Embassy activated its C-RAM (Counter-Rocket, Artillery, and Mortar) system in response to the attack, successfully intercepting one incoming drone. However, one drone reportedly struck inside the embassy premises, causing a fire and smoke. This incident is considered the most intense attack on the US Embassy in recent times.
