NVIDIA Unveils Isaac GR00T Reference Robot
NVIDIA announced the Isaac GR00T Reference Humanoid Robot for academic research at GTC Taipei on June 1, 2026. This robot, based on the NVIDIA Jetson Thor and NVIDIA Isaac GR00T open development platforms, provides access to advanced hardware and an open software stack without requiring a proprietary platform, thus democratizing cutting-edge humanoid robotics research.
Integrated Platform Accelerates Robot Development
The NVIDIA Isaac GR00T platform integrates the Unitree H2 Plus humanoid robot, Sharpa's five-fingered dexterous hands, and NVIDIA Jetson Thor onboard computing for advanced reasoning and control. This development platform supports the entire workflow from data collection and generation to robot model evaluation and deployment, helping researchers and developers accelerate humanoid development. Leading research institutions such as Ai2, ETH Zurich, and the Stanford Robotics Center are utilizing this reference design to advance their robotics research.
