Qualcomm Unveils 'Dragonwing IQ10 RRD'

Qualcomm announced the 'Dragonwing IQ10 RDD (Robotics Reference Design)' integrated platform for robot development and mass production at COMPUTEX 2026. This platform features an 18-core Orion CPU and provides up to 2000 TOPS of on-device AI performance. A key characteristic is the integration of motion control and AI computation into a single chip, expected to accelerate the development of advanced robot applications, including autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and humanoid robots.

Integrated Solution to Accelerate Robot Development

Sid Franco, Director of Robotics Product Management at Qualcomm, highlighted the limitations of traditional robot systems, stating that the 'Dragonwing IQ10 RRD' integrates high-performance computing, multi-sensor perception, and real-time control into a single system. This enables developers to move directly from prototyping to mass production. The platform offers scalable on-device AI computing performance from a baseline of 700 TOPS up to 2000 TOPS. It supports connections for up to 12 high-speed cameras and various industrial interfaces. Designed with a dedicated safety island for industrial optimization, global partners like Advantech have already begun development. Products are scheduled for supply starting in September.
