Nvidia Selects Unitree Humanoid Robot for Research Platform Launch
Nvidia Unveils Humanoid Robot Platform
Nvidia announced it has selected humanoid robots developed by Chinese startup Unitree for its first publicly available robotics system. The system integrates Unitree's nearly 6-foot-tall H2 humanoid robot with Nvidia's Jetson Thor hardware. Notably, Jetson Thor includes Nvidia's advanced Blackwell GPU for on-device artificial intelligence capabilities.
AI Models and Market Expansion Plans
The robot testing package incorporates Nvidia's humanoid-focused AI models, known as Isaac GR00T, and simulation systems. The robot's mechanical hands are manufactured by Singapore-based Sharpa. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has predicted that "physical AI" could become a market worth tens of trillions of dollars, anticipating rapid growth in the robotics segment over the next five years. Through this system, Nvidia plans to supply products to various research institutions, from Stanford to ETH Zurich, expanding its presence in the robotics market.
