Around 10:00 AM on June 1, in Nishikojiya, Ota Ward, Tokyo, Tomio Ishii (75) was arrested on suspicion of attempting to murder a man in his 50s by stabbing him in the face with a knife. The victim sustained minor injuries.

According to police investigations, Ishii and the victim had an argument on a moving bus regarding the way the victim was reading his newspaper.
