Discussion on AI Security Threat Response and Safety
The Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) announced on the 27th that it held a meeting with OpenAI on the 26th to explore cooperation measures for responding to artificial intelligence (AI) security threats and ensuring AI safety and trustworthiness. The meeting was organized with the aim of jointly addressing increasing security threats alongside rapidly advancing AI technology and fostering a trustworthy AI ecosystem.
High-Level Officials from Both Sides Discuss Cooperation Agendas
On the Korean side, Ryu Je-myung, Second Vice Minister of MSIT, participated, while Jason Kwon, Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), and other key OpenAI officials attended. Both sides exchanged in-depth opinions on the direction of AI technology development and potential risks. They discussed various cooperation agendas, including collaboration on AI security technology development, establishing international standards, and setting ethical guidelines.
