China Assigns Digital IDs to Humanoid Robots for Lifecycle Tracking
Digital ID System for Humanoid Robots Introduced
China is introducing a national digital identification system for the rapidly growing humanoid robot sector to monitor safety risks and standardize management. This initiative will assign unique digital identity numbers to robots throughout their operational lifecycle, from manufacturing and deployment to recycling and disposal. The system aims to help regulators track products more effectively as China accelerates the development of humanoid robotics.
Over 28,000 Robots Assigned Digital Identities
The program is being rolled out across more than 100 Chinese humanoid robot manufacturers. Reports indicate that over 28,000 robots spanning approximately 200 models have already been assigned digital identities. This initiative is coordinated by China’s Humanoid Robotics and Embodied Intelligence Standardisation (HEIS) organization under the country’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, as China focuses on industrial, commercial, and domestic applications for these robots.
