China Unveils 'Humanoid Robot Full Lifecycle Management Specification'
New Management Specification for Humanoid Robots Announced
On May 22, the 'Humanoid Robot Full Lifecycle Management Service Platform Promotion Conference' was held in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area. During the event, the 'Humanoid Robot Full Lifecycle Management Specification', led by the China Electronics Technology Standardization Institute (CESI), was officially released. This specification defines unified identity coding rules for humanoid robots, essentially providing a 'digital ID card' for each robot. Yu Xiuming, Vice President of CESI, stated that the specification aims to address issues such as inconsistent coding formats across enterprises, difficulties in cross-enterprise traceability, and government regulatory 'information silos.'
Accelerating Robot Application and Lifecycle Management
This management specification applies to all relevant stakeholders, including humanoid robot manufacturers, service providers, sellers, users, and recycling agencies. It clearly outlines the management requirements for the entire lifecycle of a robot, from production and distribution to maintenance and recycling. The initiative seeks to establish a full lifecycle management mechanism that meets industry development needs, resolves core issues related to safety, management, and governance, and accelerates the application and commercialization of humanoid robots. The robot's identity code consists of four parts: national code, enterprise name code, product model code, and serial number, totaling 29 characters. Once registered, this code cannot be altered.
